Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of several components of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It involves the insertion of very fine, sterile, single use acupuncture needles at specific points on the body, which correspond to a patient’s ailment or area of concern. Most patients experience no pain from insertion, others may feel a pinch, warm sensation at the site, or a sensation at a distal (other area) of the body. Any discomfort is brief; inserted needles should be undetectable by the patient. Most patients feel extremely relaxed once the needles have been inserted, and typically fall asleep during treatment. Acupuncture may be used in conjunction with other modalities, such as herbal medicine, Ontake/Moxa, Tui na, and cupping.

Community Acupuncture
Seasonal offering: I am pleased to offer community acupuncture as an affordable and effective way to support your health and wellness. Unlike traditional acupuncture treatments which take place in a one-on-one setting, community acupuncture patients are treated simultaneously in our outdoor tent space. Up to four patients can be treated at a time, each in a semi-private space. The treatments are primarily on the front of the body and mainly on distal points (legs, arms, hands, feet, ears, etc.), so you won’t have to bare much skin while you will zone out and relax in a nice comfy chair for about 40 minutes. This is the way that acupuncture is traditionally done in Asia. Community-style clinics run on a sliding scale in order to make them more affordable, and so that people can get the amount of treatment they need in a shorter period of time. The idea is to make acupuncture as accessible as possible.
